The people and practice behind the road
Road Trip Rehab is run by Arago Integrative Recovery, a private practice on the southern Oregon coast near Cape Arago, founded and owned by Cassidy Cousens. Every guide who takes a trip is a clinician, and every trip has one client.

Founder and author
Cassidy Cousens
Cassidy Cousens started in treatment centers on the cleaning crew and moved through admissions, program design and clinical roles into ownership. Over two decades he owned and ran treatment centers, nonprofit and private, worked with families as an interventionist, and served at the state level on standards for treatment facilities.
Those years showed him what the systems do well and what they cannot do. The group schedule, the diagnosis-driven plan and the pressure to scale all pull attention away from the one person in the room. After selling his last center he founded Arago Integrative Recovery near Cape Arago on the Oregon coast to work the other way around: one clinician and one client, with movement, nature and honest conversation doing the work. SLIF’s Stoic and logotherapy foundations come from the same years. Cassidy writes this site and shapes the program.
The guides
One guide, who is also a clinician
You work with one guide for the whole trip. That person is a clinician. Clinical work develops through conversation on a trail, decisions about the day and an evening by the fire.
The consultation covers who your guide would be, their experience and their responsibilities, so the fit is settled before anything is planned.
Continuity is the point of one guide. Conversations and observations carry across days instead of being confined to a single meeting, and the person who saw the morning is the person you talk to in the evening.

The circle
Support around the work
With your consent, your existing therapist, psychiatrist or physician can remain part of the circle, and other professionals are brought in when they serve a clear purpose. Roles and communication are agreed before the trip.
Family involvement follows the same rule: agreed with you, guided by consent, with clear expectations about what is shared and when. Families and referring professionals has the detail.
Qualifications, clinical responsibilities, access to support and what happens if your needs change are all settled before you decide. A personal relationship should also be an accountable one.
The practice
A program of Arago Integrative Recovery
Road Trip Rehab is not a separate organization. Consultations, care agreements and payment go through Arago Integrative Recovery, the practice behind the clinical work. The practice is not a medical facility and does not provide detox or inpatient care; where those are needed, they come first.
The wider practice, its philosophy and its other programs are described at Arago Integrative Recovery. This site covers this program only: how it works, why the setting matters and whether it fits the care you need.
The approach
What shapes the work
SLIF, the practice’s Stoic and logotherapy method, gives the work its structure: Clearing, Orienting and Engaging. ACE, Ancestral Cognitive Ecology, is the environmental foundation and the reason the work happens outdoors. The philosophy explains how they are used, and Why the Road covers the research on nature and attention.
The first step is a consultation. It covers your circumstances, the proposed guide, the scope of care and the practical terms before you decide, and it can also identify when another service is the better fit. Begin with How It Works and the practical questions.
